Now Playing: On Demand, else where- unknown
Opinion: Pleasantly creeped out and entertained
Review: All during this movie I couldn't help feeling that there was "something" off."Something" about the film that made me a little creeped out. The actors disproportionate head to body ratio, much like babies with their disproportion big heads, (yes I find the aesthetics of babies creepy) wasn't the only thing. Only after researching a bit on it did I realize the whole reason why "something" felt off. "The film uses a technique where actual photographs have been altered and heavily stylized in a computer program, and then animated." A very effective affect (or is it effect?). The deconstruction of something real and it's reconstructed into a stylized interpretation of something meant to look real. Artistic deception, anime satire of the "living" world... it's all very intriguing to me.

The story is a bit slow, the topic a bit worn out, the concepts and conspiracies marginally plausible (in an anime world). I don't have one of those newfangled flat screens TVs and thought the film was too dark on my tube TV (though the darkness did add to the mood of the movie) but I did throw curses for not having a better audio setup. They did a great job with the sound (I think). I WAS impressed with the graphics and got lost in the attention to details amongst the simplistic animated world.

All in all the movie was Eh. But not everything is about the "entertainment" factor. I enjoyed this movie for the pure and total composition of it.

Also it's been a very long time passing that I've gotten that creepy feeling, nice to feel that again.
