Russian film from 1985. I just saw it recently and was completely blown away by it. The story follows a young Russian partisan during the second world war. It had an atmosphere I can't quite describe and the use of sound in the film was very innovative and moving. It's no typical war movie. Never seen anything quite like it. Highly recommended. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091251/

Saw it when it first came out and I've had it on DVD for years. Definitely high on the recommended viewing list.

I watched the trailer on the imdb link you posted, and it looks awesome!
any ideas on how i can find it? i looked on ebay and the damn thing is roughly $26 to 30 bucks! any websites sell these sort of films for anything cheaper than that?
i've never gotten much into buying foriegn films, so i don't know where to look but this one looks like its worth seeking out...
thanks for the suggestion by the way!

I bought my copy by mail from Russia, can't recall from which store.
(I often buy movies from Hong Kong and Korea, and occasionally France, Japan & Russia).
