i was wondering if anyone here has played around with SPEAR:

i've only just begun, but it seems quite interesting...and it's free and available for os X as well as windows.
i use the os X version.

I have used SPEAR for a while. The sounds sometimes get a bit synthetic, but I really like the timestretch and the spectral filtering possibilities. It is really a good choice if you like to process field recordings.

looks like an interesting program Im downloading it now and giving it a shot.
