Is there anyone else out there at all that does this kind of post-apocalyptic western americana instrumental music? I would love to find more...I have heard some random Ry Cooder tracks that are less bluesly and more of the western americana cinematic stuff, and the same for Rameses III (especially thier album "Jozepha" - it is just amazing stuff)....but none the less they are only similar in a small vein. I am wanting to find more like Earth's HEX/Bees Made Honey style, if that style even exists outside of Dylan Carlson....anyone have any suggestions?

You might enjoy the Neil Young soundtrack to Dead Man.

I was thinking hard, but came up with nothing, but that is an excellent suggestion! I
saw that movie recently and was blown away by the soundtrack.

On the new subject 'No Country for Old Men' comes a few suggestions from me. It
doesn't have a whole of a lot to do with Fennesz though:
Oren Ambarchi. His albums Grapes From the Estate and In the Pendulum's Embrace
especially. Very very slow jazzy feel to it. Fits perfectly with the mood the movie
delivers.
Svarte Greiner - Knive. Moody Norwegian acoustic ambient or something. Awesome.
Deathprod. Norwegian again. Very organic feel to this. That goes for the rest of the
recommendations actually. Drone again. Recommended listens are Morals & Dogma,
Treetop Drive and the 10" ep 6-Track.
