i put out a release for my noise project, cazukay, on canadian tape label Scotch Tapes. You can find it/give it a listen at http://www.myspace.com/cazukay.

there are a couple of splits coming soon (one in october with my tv hurts, from new york) under cazukay as well with different and experimental recordings from the sound found on the current cazukay release.

just wanted to post this in case anyone here is into concrete/noise/experimental recordings.

thanks!

I have no idea what "concrete" is but I like your sound work there.

If I understand the term correctly.

Anyway, it was very interesting to listen to. Not too familiar with this particular style of music, but I'm up for new experiences. Certainly not quite like anything I've heard before.

"March to the Slaughter" was really good. "European Swimmer" was a tad too drawn out, however.

But of course sir. I'm fully aware of the term "Musique Concrete." How could I dare call myself an experimental musician if I did not? *snobbishly sticks nose in air and puffs calabash pipe*

I agree I thought the same thing with European Swimmer. I admit I have a short attention span however. But I still like it. It's noise but it's not the usual speaker blowing sonic assault attempt at it. Since it goes on for 13 minutes I assume it's something conceptual. I also agree March to the Slaughter is a strong track. Very listenable.

I'm short on attention span myself, bu I'm generally capable of focusing on music. European Swimmer kind of got brought down because it seemed to be that one sound through it's length. I like longer tracks to have a feeling of movement or progression, somewhat.

hell you could hate all my work, i'm just excited and pleased that you even gave it a listen!

i really do appreciate that. and i appreciate your praise and criticism as well. the european swimmer was a bit of an idea, not one to be consistently repeated, and yes a bit long i'll agree.

the split i have coming up with my tv hurts will be a bit more of an interesting change. it will still be noise i suppose, but not the speaker shattering, and not the near white noise exploration either. it will contain voices in new ways, as well as a darker side. we are aiming for an october release, hopefully we achieve that goal.

again, thank you guys so much for even listening to my work...

My pleasure. The stuff is worth a listen. Best of luck with the upcoming split.
